Miguel Drop Kicked A Fan Whilst Performing
This week’s Billboard Music Awards saw Miguel try (and fail) to do some kind of superman-esque jump over a pit of fans. The failure resulted in the singer drop kicking a surprised fan in the head. It’s an incredible incident, and you can watch it all below.
It’s Pronounced ‘Jif’ not ‘Gif’
Slightly disappointing news this week for tech grammar Nazi’s. The debate over how to pronounce ‘gif’ has been settled, it’s pronounced ‘jif’. For those of you unfamiliar with the gif, it stands for graphics interchange format and you’ve probably seen it being used to animate images on the internet.
This week the creator of the format, Steve Wilhite picked up a lifetime achievement award at the 2013 Webby Awards. Instead of making a speech Wilhite presented a short animation which read ‘It’s pronounced ‘jif’ not ‘gif” which adhered to the ceremony’s strict 5 word speech limit. You can watch Wilhite picking up his award below.
Microsoft Unveiled The Xbox One
After Sony teased us all with details about their upcoming PlayStation 4 a few weeks ago it was time for Microsoft to take centre stage and dazzle us all with their Xbox One… Except, well, they kind of didn’t. The new xbox resembles an old betamax player and appears more focused on providing awesome television content… something televisions have been doing for years without Microsoft’s help. Also as this parody account of Sony’s CEO Kaz Hirai explains one can never be better than four.
You can watch an abridged version of the announcement below.
